In many countries, it is mandatory for babies to get vaccinated. In Taiwan, babies who did not get vaccinated cannot go to school. However, there are some babies that died from the vaccination. Because of this, there are a lot of parents who are doubtful about the vaccine. Are vaccines always good?

Vaccines are good because they keep a person healthy (POINT). They do so by increasing the production of antibodies to fight against a virus. (EXPLAIN) In Taiwan, there are a lot of people who are infected by the flu, the most critical time is in the summer. Thus, the government will let the students in Primary school, Junior high school, and High school have a flu vaccination in school. Because of this, the flu rate in Taiwan is decreased. (EXAMPLE) Hence, vaccines keep people healthier. (LINK)

Vaccines are very cheap and accessible. (POINT) In Taiwan, the government will pay a lot of money for the medical resources that you use (EXPLAIN), the system is called ‘National Health Insurance’. Since there is ‘National Health Insurance’, vaccines are very cheap and accessible. There are also a few vaccines that are free. (EXAMPLE) Hence, vaccines cost little to nothing. (LINK)

The most interesting thing about vaccines is when a lot of people get vaccinated, the risk of infection will reduce. This is a phenomenon known as ‘herd immunity’. It protects the people that did not get vaccinated and saves people from a dangerous disease.

However, some scientists have research that shows vaccines are not always good. The fundamental principle of vaccines is putting the virus inside your body. As a result, Vaccines may cause side effects, like mild fever, chills, feeling tired, headache or muscle aches, even shock, and death.

Vaccines are accessible to a lot of children and adults. Yet, vaccines are not accessible to elders and people that have Autoimmune diseases. Even though vaccines are not always the best, we still need vaccines to defend our bodies.

In conclusion, vaccines are good for us because they keep us healthy, are cheap and accessible, and create herd immunity. They do cause potentially bad side effects, but the benefits of vaccines still outweigh the harms. Hence, I think that everyone should get vaccinated for the greater good.
